Varsity Park is a vibrant neighborhood of some 600 families surrounding Varsity Playground on Jefferson at Duke.  Our neighborhood is bordered by Marilyn Drive to the North, North Springer Road to the West, Sladky Avenue to the South and Miramonte Road to the East.

Survey: Thanks to all of you who completed the short survey designed to learn your concerns and how prepared you are for an emergency or disaster. If you have not yet responded, you are welcome to still do so. Your responses are really important as we will discuss them at the Varsity Park CERT General meeting. The information will help us plan our activities and training for Varsity Park CERT.

VarsityParkCERT (VPC) is a group of Mountain View neighbors who volunteer as a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for emergency preparation and timely response.

Goal: Grow and empower a group of Varsity Park neighborhood volunteers with training, experiences and resources to enable them to provide the most good to the most neighbors in times of emergencies or at other important neighborhood or city events, to encourage household preparedness in Varsity Park, and to effectively coordinate with MV emergency services.

Volunteer Opportunities:  An effective neighborhood CERT  includes volunteers with a variety of skills and roles.  Some are trained in a local CERT academy, other have amateur radio licenses, first aid training, serve as block volunteers, or help with outreach and communication. We are always looking to grow our CERT volunteers to increase our ability to respond in time of need. See Volunteers.

Upcoming Events: 

• MV CERT Academy, Thursday April 9 -> Saturday April 25 .The next CERT academy to train new CERT members will be held on several Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with a final Field day on Saturday April 25. To register click register.

• Weekly ARES/RACES "ham" check-in - every Monday, 8pm.

• Monthly VPC FRS/GMRS radio check, first Tuesday of each month, 7.30pm, channel 3.

Past Events Of Interest:

• City Wide Mountain View Drill, Saturday Oct 18, 2025: Varsity Park CERT participated in this drill with our new trailer-based command post situated in the parking lot of the First Presbytarian Chuch of Mountain View.  See the after action notes for more details

• May 18, 2024,  1-3pm - Varsity Park Neighborhood Association Ice Cream Social, Varsity Park Playground. We had ta CERT presence at this event, with the trailer.

• Sun July 24, 2022 - Block Volunteer get-together in Varsity Park, 4-5.30pm.
